With the new outfitting of the Maumere tuna processing facility, Yamako Pacific is able to process high quality yellow-fin tuna and skipjack products for Japanese and other export markets. The company focuses on a range of tuna species, primarily skipjack and yellow-fin.

As part of its recent expansion plan, Yamako Pacific has gone downstream for value-added processing of its whole round yellow-fin and skipjack, providing end products like frozen loin, yellow-fin saku and katsuobushi.

In summary, the current focus of the business is the following products:

  • Skipjack Tuna – The traditional business of catching, buying and trading of frozen whole round fishes.
  • Skipjack Tuna – Value-added processed tuna products (frozen loin) and smoked processed tuna products (katsuobushi).
  • Yellow-fin Tuna – Proton frozen saku processed by the Yamako’s technology process
